How to apply as a senior certified Dementia/Alzheimer's Professional as well as a Senior Companion Care Provider on this website? I have 20 years of experience.

I noticed your certifications around dementia in your profile, op. Being open to providing typical dementia associated help, such as toileting and redirecting, should narrow your search to days vs weeks. I would think you’d be an excellent candidate for many agencies, plus you’d also have a great shot with care.com.

A Place for Mom, the sites owner, does not allow direct marketing on the forum portion of the site. They make their money off finders fees paid by agencies and facilities that they list under “find care.” Our moderators may be reached through the top post in discussions, and they might have more ideas on how this might be or not be a fit for you and them.

Caregiving itself is a burgeoning field, and after 20 years, you’ve likely seen it all. This means you have choices, especially as an independent. My mil’s sleep aide is paid approx 72k a year on an eight hour basis during the day driving a 93 yo woman as she wishes, going out to eat with her (her expense) and ok, rubbing her feet sometimes. She makes another 66k on same basis being mil’s sleep aide. There is no toileting or hoyering involved in either job, though there are plenty more that also require these should you wish to work doing that.

The family paying the day position btw pay 70/hr as it’s through an agency. Most people would rather pay 35. Unless you love the adl part, I’d advertise as a paid companion on care.com. I bet you’ll have offers within the week.
